Austin Cancer Center’s Gynecologic Oncology division focuses on managing cancers of the female reproductive system, including ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, cervical cancer, vulvar, and vaginal cancers. Our multidisciplinary team of fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologists and radiation oncologists work collaboratively to ensure you receive the best possible care with the best possible results.
Our Gynecologic Oncologists, Dr. Kassondra Grzankowski and Dr. Rachel Brightwell bring years of experience as talented cancer surgeons while performing exploratory laparotomies with open abdominal cytoreductive procedures and have extensive training and experience in minimally invasive procedures, including advanced laparoscopy and DaVinci robotics. When gynecologic cancers are treated by fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologists, like Dr. Grzankowski and Dr. Brightwell, research has shown survival outcomes to be superior. Our gynecologic oncologists believe in not just treating a disease, but treating the whole person, with great emphasis on maximizing the patient’s quality of life and respecting her autonomy.
