Dr. Caroline Coombs-Skiles is a board-certified cancer specialist with a focus on surgery for benign and malignant breast disease. She has a special interest and vast experience in oncoplastic surgery which allows her to remove cancerous areas while using techniques that result in superior cosmetic outcomes, often with a hidden scar. She has a talent for performing mastectomies that are both nipple sparing and have hidden scars.
Dr. Coombs-Skiles oversees Austin Cancer Center’s Lymphedema Screening Clinic which diagnoses patients with lymphedema at an early and treatable stage.
She performs both ultrasound guided and stereotactic guided breast biopsies to achieve a diagnosis usually within 24 hours.
Dr. Coombs-Skiles received her medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. She completed her five-year residency in general surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Coombs-Skiles received the prestigious Raleigh Ross Scholar award from the Texas Surgical Society.
She is certified in Breast Ultrasound by the American Society of Breast Surgeons.
Dr. Coombs-Skiles helped to establish the new Breast and Oncology Clinic at Austin Breast Center, which is located at The Park Building at St. David’s Medical Center. This clinic offers patients the combined experience of breast surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists
