Dr. Jane Nelson is a board-certified surgeon specializing in breast surgery. She specializes in contemporary, compassionate care and provides full diagnostic workups for women with breast conditions.

Dr. Nelson holds specialized training in breast ultrasound, stereotactic and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and partial breast radiation treatment. She is dedicated to breast conservation and maximizing cosmetic outcomes, which is supported by her reputation in the medical community.

Educational Background

Dr. Nelson received her Bachelor of Arts in cellular biology from the University of California Santa Barbara, graduating with honors. She received her Master of Science in molecular biology, also from the University of California Santa Barbara. She earned her medical degree from the University of Hawaii. Dr. Nelson completed her surgical residency at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo.

Awards & Research

Dr. Nelson is a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

She has been appointed as the Medical Director for the SDMC Breast Center and serves as Physician Leader for the NAPBC Accreditation.

Dr. Nelson has received the Mastery of Breast Surgery certification and is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
